Nominated by the Royal Australian Navy for CONSULTANT OF THE YEAR 2021, Andrew Kirby is an experienced leader, strategic planner and analyst for both business and Defence. With over 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship, management, business planning, Defence and national security, Andrew has a proven record of providing highly valued analysis and advice that enables senior decision-makers to understand and solve complex problems. 

Specialising in strategic policy development, futures analysis and capability planning, Andrew’s grasp of strategic issues, judgment and communication skills have earned him a reputation for loyalty and results.

Andrew has a vast array of experiences ranging from managing diverse teams, collaborating with Industry and Academia and advising Senior Policymakers, to working with community organisations in developing nations (ensuring free and democratic elections, addressing poverty, food security, education, health and the empowerment of women) to fighting Islamic Terrorism on Middle Eastern operations.

Andrew has served over twenty years in the military and deployed on multiple operations overseas. Andrew has served as a committee member of Defence in Business ACT and QLD an organisation which actively promotes the values & experience of current and former defence personnel. He is proud to be actively involved in a number of initiatives that support Veterans transition and find meaningful employment, particularly Strategise Australia’s Veteran Recruitment Program.

Before founding Strategise Australia in 2016, Andrew established the North East Corner trust (2009), managing numerous property projects throughout North and Western Queensland. Andrew has sat on the board of the UNSW Faculty of Built Environment and consulted on and conducted numerous negotiations and business deals.

Andrew is an active member of the United Service Institute (ACT and QLD).
